AFRICAN
AMBASSADOR
Africa Day, as it is now known, marks the beginning of a quest for the unity of the continent and for the political and economic emancipation of its people as well as co-operation amongst them.
What we do
African Ambassador initiative is focused on creating an ongoing awareness and fostering the culture of Pan Africanism amongst youth in South Africa and the African diaspora.
Art as an Expression
Art is an effective way to communicate and will be in the forefront of our engagement with youth i.e. poetry, music, fashion, theatre dance and visual arts.
Drive Change
As a leading country in Africa, it is crucial for South Africa to recognize and celebrate Africa Month, religiously and ensure that its programs are accurately aligned with those of the AU
Ongoing Conversations
Conversations on social media & youth forums at higher learning institutions, with the focus on ‘what does it mean to be an African and the way forward’.

DRIVING CHANGE THROUGH TOMORROW’s LEADERS
Young people today are losing touch with their African heritage, as we move towards globalization and a cosmopolitan lifestyle. South Africa alone has 11 official languages which all have their own unique cultures and traditions, and Nigeria has approximately 500 languages with hundreds of ethnic groups and three of which are major languages, namely Yoruba, Hausa-Fulani and Igbo.
As opposed to the concept of Africa Day being celebrated during the month of May only, African Ambassador is an initiative which will ensure that the concept of Africa Month is carried throughout the year. Young people have the power to drive change and they are tomorrow’s leaders. African Ambassador initiative is focused on creating an ongoing awareness and fostering the culture of Pan Africanism amongst youth in South Africa and the African diaspora. It is about ongoing conversations on social media and youth forums at higher learning institutions, with the focus on ‘what does it mean to be an African and the way forward’. Art is one of the most effective ways of communicating a message. Therefore, art will be in the forefront of our engagement with youth i.e. poetry, music, fashion, theatre dance and visual arts.

THE FOUNDING OF AFRICAN AMBASSADOR
The project is founded by a dynamic Social Entrepreneur, Actress, Radio Personality, MC, and Model who was recently crowned Ms United Nation International 2018/19 in Toronto (Canada) 25 August 2018, Ms Vinolia Mabele. The pageant sought to honour women all over the world involved in community building initiatives that are making a positive and lasting impact. It saw over 18 contestants competing for the title of which Vinolia was the overall winner. For Vinolia this solidified her lifelong dream of being afforded the official ambassadorial role to effect change for the African community at large. She plans to use her new title to expand her programs to continue the work she began with her Face of Mzansi organization by partnering with organizations that share a similar vision as those of the UN and AU.
The multi-award winning Vinolia Mabele was recognized by the Premier of Gauteng David Makhura, for her Community Development initiatives in the category of “Investing in Girls” at the Women of Excellence Awards in 2018. She was also recognized at the Sedibeng Mayoral Awards in 2016 by Mayor Mahole S Mofokeng and Mayor Busisiwe Modisakeng, in the category of Community Development for her work in relation to Face of Mzansi (Vaal) girl child empowerment, as well as her developing career in the world of film and television.
